Education and Career Planning

Counseling

Students are encouraged to consult with professional counselors about academic, career or personal issues that are barriers. They may work in a confidential relationship with a counselor in which they may explore such things as their aspirations, abilities, interests, values, study skills, relationships, or any other concern they may have about their college/life experience. The unique needs of each student are taken into account by the counselor.

In addition to career, academic and brief personal counseling, referrals and assessments may also be made or recommended. The counselor can help determine what additional services the student might access in order to meet his/her needs.

Education and Career
Planning

Students who are having academic difficulties and are considering dropping a course or withdrawing from the college are encouraged to schedule an appointment with a counselor. It may be important to discuss the effects of decisions on future financial aid or educational plans.

Counseling is located in Room 159 at Truax and Room D107 in the Downtown Education Center. Counselors are also available at regional campuses. Call (608) 246-6076 (Truax) or (608) 259-2979 (Downtown) or one of the four regional campuses. Students at the Commercial Avenue Center may call either Truax or Downtown campus for services.
