Procedures for Qualified Students Requiring a Notetaker
- Register for classes.
- Meet with a Disability Resource Specialist. During this meeting,
the student will complete note-taking request forms and complete the
note-taking agreement contract with a Disability Resource Specialist.
Specifically, the student will:
- Clarify which courses are appropriate for note-taking services.
- Clarify in-class note-taking request procedures.
- On the first day of class, the student will show the instructor his/her
accommodation card and give the instructor the note-taking request
form. The student must ask the instructor for assistance in selection
of the most qualified note-taker.
- Attend all classes.
- Consult with note-taker to determine when notes will be exchanged
(i.e. after class.)
- If no one volunteers to take notes on the first or second day of
class the student must notify DRS immediately
