Procedures for Qualified Students Requiring a Notetaker

  1. Register for classes.
  2. Meet with a Disability Resource Specialist. During this meeting, the student will complete note-taking request forms and complete the note-taking agreement contract with a Disability Resource Specialist. Specifically, the student will:
    • Clarify which courses are appropriate for note-taking services.
    • Clarify in-class note-taking request procedures.
  3. On the first day of class, the student will show the instructor his/her accommodation card and give the instructor the note-taking request form. The student must ask the instructor for assistance in selection of the most qualified note-taker.
  4. Attend all classes.
  5. Consult with note-taker to determine when notes will be exchanged (i.e. after class.)
  6. If no one volunteers to take notes on the first or second day of class the student must notify DRS immediately
