Deb Olsen, Counselor
Prior to coming to MATC, I taught overseas in Botswana, southern Africa. I also worked as a counselor in other community colleges and for the Peace Corps! Each experience has only enhanced my desire to see students succeed in college and in life.
At MATC, in addition to supporting students in achieving their academic, career and personal goals, I teach College Success courses. One of my favorite things is to see students have an “Aha” moment that leads to their success. I agree with Oprah Winfrey who said, “I do think that the greatest lesson of life is that you are responsible for your own life.”
