Choosing a Career/Program
Advisor with student

How do I choose a career or program?
Many students find the career exploration process helpful. This process encourages individuals first to understand themselves, and to have a wide view of their options in the world of work. Next comes gathering information to narrow down choices and choosing a professional direction. The career exploration process is often broken down into four steps: Learning About Yourself, Gathering Information and Exploring Options, Goal Setting and Planning, and Taking Action
How can ACR help me choose a career or program?
  • Students may meet with an advisor (available at each campus) for assistance with career exploration. Contact us to schedule an appointment.
  • At the Truax campus, career planning workshops are offered every week. View the schedule and contact us if you would like to register for a workshop.
  • Students are welcome to borrow our career videos, DVDs, books, and other resources to assist you with choosing a career direction.
  • An annual Job Fair is held at the Truax Campus. The next job fair is scheduled for March 29, 2006, 9:00am - 1:00pm in the first floor hallways.
