Career Pathways
Students and Parents:
Career Pathways allows students to explore career options and experience the technical college in a variety of ways.
1. Advanced Standing - Students can gain tuition-free credit and advanced standing for taking a technical college program equivalent course at their high school
2. Youth Options - Public high school students in the 11th or 12th grade may enroll at MATC for courses approved by their local school district.
3. Careers Pathways - Attend one of MATC's several Pathways to Careers events and get an inside look into different career options. Pathways to Careers gives students hands-on experience with different careers:
- November 15 - Agriscience and Technology
- December 6 - Business and Applied Arts
- February 7 - Construction, Manufacturing Apprenticeship and Transportation (CMAT)
- March 6 - Protective Services*
- April 17 - Liberal Arts/UW Connections
* All events will be held from 12-3 at the Truax campus in Madison with the exception of the Protective Services event, which will be held at the Commercial Avenue campus.
4. Special College Events and Campus Information - MATC hosts events and provides tools for prospective students and their parents to explore the school and educational options such as campus tours, assessment testing, College Spotlight and other events, and advisor meetings.
