  • Traditional College Semester Delivery provides students with regular semester classes on campus. Classes meet one evening per week over the course of the semester.
  • Accelerated “Fastrack” Delivery reduces in-class time commitment by 50 percent. Classes meet one night each week, and students can complete Supervisory Management core courses in 18 months. Related study requirements are also available in accelerated format.
  • Online (eTech Approved) Delivery The MATC and eTech College of Wisconsin offer learners the opportunity to complete all or part of the Supervisory Management program online. Learners interact with instructors and peers through the online environment while completing activity-based assignments individually and in online groups. The Internet environment allows students to take advantage of the technology’s strengths, rather than simply duplicate a face-to-face traditional classroom.

Competency-based Curriculum and Program Outcomes

All programs at MATC are required to establish and maintain advisory committees made up of employers who employ positions such as those being trained in the program curriculum. These advisory groups meet on a n annual basis to establish and maintain the competency list that encompasses the role and responsibility of a first-time supervisor, whether they be in a manufacturing, service, profit or non-profit industry.

SupervisorCompetency-Based Courses are based on the develoment of competencies that outline the role and responsibilities of a first-line supervisor including, but not limited to, the functions of planning, organizing, staffing, directing and assessing employee performance.

Program outcomes state what a graduate needs to be able to do with the essential knowledge, attitudes, skills, and behaviors acquired in a specific MATC program. The program outcomes communicate expectations to students, as well as other academic institutions and potential employers. The identification and assessment of program outcomes support MATC's efforts in documenting student learning and provide a context for the faculty's academic planning.

Admissions Requirements for All Applications Submitted for the Current Academic Year

Three years of work experience after high school is recommended but not required.

Normal requirements for Occupational Support Courses apply.

Traditional and Online classes do not require completion of the admission process prior to taking classes. Admission is highly recommended to be eligible for priority registration. Those students seeking the Supervisory Management Associate Degree should contact the program office at (608) 258-2370 or complete the Program Application.

Admission for the Accelerated (Fastrack) Delivery is completed at the mandatory orientation sessions.

Advanced Standing and Experiential Credit

Many adult learners have completed training and education through other institutions, their employers or have gained experience through years of work. Documentation of those achievements can be used to equate with the competencies in the program courses through the granting of advanced standing or experiential credit. Students are asked to provide transcripts from other accredited institutions, documentation from employers for training and/or a summary of their experience which is reviewed to determine if course competencies have been met. Gaining advanced standing or experiential credit does not provide a grade for a course. It simply shows that the course requirements have been met and the student no longer is required to take that course to receive the degree. For more information, contact the program office or call (608) 258-2370, (608) 258-2372 or toll free at (800) 322-6282, ext. 2370 or ext. 2372.

Program to Program Transfer Information

Many students have completed credit courses through their employer or other institutions. Credits successfully completed through accredited schools may be transferred to MATC and applied to the Associate Degree. Students are asked to supply a formal transcript which is then reviewed for acceptance of transfer. MATC has also developed many formal agreements with four-year colleges and universities which enable students and graduates to transfer their credits earned in an Associate Degree program to a specific institution. This program to program transfer allows you to continue their studies towards completion of a bachelor's, four-year degree.
