Program Outcomes
IT Programmer/Analyst, 10-152-1
Throughout the IT-Programmer/Analyst program, students acquire various skills that prepare them for a variety of entry-level programmer/analyst positions.
A student who successfully completes the coursework and graduates from the program will be able to:
- Write CICS online programs that do data retrieval and file maintenance in a COBOL mainframe environment.
- Write moderately complex COBOL batch programs to run in a mainframe environment.
- Write SQL statements to retrieve/manipulate data and manipulate relational database structures.
- Build the server side of interactive web sites using object-oriented languages.
- Build the client side of interactive web sites using (X)HTML and scripting languages.
- Write JCL to control the preparation and execution of programs in a batch environment on a mainframe operating system.
- Perform entry-level systems analysis and design work to solve business problems using both traditional and object-oriented methodologies.
- Solve problems individually or in a team environment.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the IT field and its job roles.
