IT Network Security Specialist, 10-150-3
Throughout the IT Network Security Specialist program, students acquire various skills that prepare them for a variety of entry-level networking positions.
A student who successfully completes the coursework and graduates from the program will be able to:
- Configure, maintain, troubleshoot, & secure routers, switches, firewalls, and virtual private networks.
- Detect, analyze, and defend against network and system penetration.
- Maintain data, confidentiality, and integrity through data and communication encryption.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and secure devices in the network (workstations, servers).
- Solve problems individually and in a team environment.
- Gather, interpret, and analyze data in forensic security investigations.
- Determine the role of security in a business.
- Recognize ethical responsibilities.
