Program Outcomes

Interior Design, 10-304-1

Graduates of the Interior Design Program at Madison Area Technical College will:

1. Demonstrate awareness of the career options, current issues, and professional practices of the Interior Design Profession.
2. Design residential interiors and commercial office spaces that are functional and appealing according to the client program, code requirements, and industry standards.
3. Specify and estimate appropriate interior design furnishings, finishes, and materials.
4. Prepare design and construction drawings, specifications, and estimates, utilizing both manual presentation skills and computer applications.
5. Acquire employment by matching personal and professional interests and abilities with interior design career opportunities.
6. Apply effective interpersonal communications with clients, co-workers, managers, suppliers, workrooms, and subcontractors within the Interior Design Industry.
