Program Outcomes

Mechanical Design, 10-606-1

  1. Communicate effectively in written, verbal, and electronic formats to coworkers, supervisors, and customers.
  2. Apply technical math and science knowledge to prepare engineering drawings and assist in the design of products.
  3. Use computers and appropriate software to solve problems and communicate in the mechanical design work environment.
  4. Use appropriate CAD systems to create designs/drawings.
  5. Demonstrate applied technical drawing standards essential to create working drawings.
  6. Analyze mechanical parts based on selection criteria and strength requirements.
  7. Apply a basic knowledge and understanding of manufacturing infrastructure* and planning in the mechanical design field.
  8. Demonstrate appropriate professional behaviors by effectively managing time, maintaining positive client relations, accurately assessing personal work performance, displaying initiative and professional ethics.
  9. Work effectively and productively within a team work environment.

    *Manfacturing Infrastructure and Planning- the process of how manufacturing businesses function including product and project management, product costing, manufacturing planning and control.
