Employment opportunities for qualified trained technicians continue to increase. This program is designed to provide students with skills necessary to enter or advance in many automotive industry positions. The technology, diagnosis and repair of automotive and light truck electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems are studied. Considerable time is spent developing hands-on skills that are used on the job. Skills learned in the program are valuable to individuals choosing to enter professions other than automotive technician. Visit the Automotive Department Website for additional information.

Program outcomes state what a graduate needs to be able to do with the essential knowledge, attitudes, skills, and behaviors acquired in a specific MATC program. The program outcomes communicate expectations to students, as well as other academic institutions and potential employers. The identification and assessment of program outcomes support MATC's efforts in documenting student learning and provide a context for the faculty's academic planning.
