Global Horizons Distinguished Lecture Series
Students, faculty, and the community can enjoy stimulating discussions with nationally and internationally renowned speakers, performers, leaders, and artists as part of the Global Horizons Series. This initative in global awareness education for the MATC campus and community, highlights a different area of the world or issue of global concern each semester for a series of public lectures, workshops and other events.
The purpose of the Global Horizons Series is to put individual students, faculty and community members in contact with global figures who are making a difference in the world through their commitment, involvement and local action to inspire our local community to new heights of leadership and engagement.
Students can earn associate degree credit by participating in Global Horizons Special Topics courses. Students build on the topics covered in Global Horizons lectures and events by conducting their own independent research, discussing related issues with other students and completing a short essay paper. For more information about upcoming Global Horizons events, contact the Student Life Office or call (608) 246-6224.
