ABC Sheet Metal
Sheet metal apprentices learn how to design, fabricate, assemble, install and repair the sheet metal products required in a wide variety of industries and settings. Topics covered during the Sheet Metal ABC Apprenticeship Program include but are not limited to: trade math; tools of the trade; fasteners, hangers and supports; steel and other metals; principles of layout sheet metal processes; fabrication; piping practices; bend allowances; soldering; blueprint and specifications; SMACNA manuals; sheet metal duct fabrication; insulation; gutters and downspouts; roof flashing; principles of air flow, refrigeration; fiberglass duct; welding, brazing and cutting; field measuring and fitting; shop production and organization; air balance; louvers, dampers and access doors; hoods and ventilators; and fume and exhaust systems design.
