Plastering

Plastering apprentices can expect to learn: scratching and browning (all bases), including using sand and lightweight plaster to prepare walls and ceilings which are to receive tile; lining, dotting and screeding of different surfaces which are to receive tile; and how to apply thinwall and finishes such as whitecoating, sand finishing, acoustical plastering and stucco. Plastering apprentices may also learn specialty work with texture finishes, acoustical tile, plaster veneering, plaster coatings, fireproofing and insulating, exposed aggregate, waterproofing, bonding agents, application and artificial finishes. Includes the exterior finishings, drivit, stow and synergy.
