ABC Electrical

Electrical apprentices learn how to plan the electrical systems for structures based on local, state, and national electrical codes. Topics covered during the Electrical ABC Apprenticeship Program include, but are not limited to: electrical safety; national and local electrical codes; conduit bending; fasteners and anchors; AC/DC and electrical theory; electrical test equipment; raceways, boxes and fitting; conductors and installations; blueprint reading; residential, commercial and industrial wiring; cable trays; grounding; motor controls; contractors and relays; electric lighting; circuit breakers and fuses; motor and load calculations; overcurrent production; distribution equipment; transformers; lamps, ballasts and components; HVAC systems and controls; standby and emergency systems; high voltage termination/splices; motor maintenance; heat tracing and freeze protection; fire alarm systems; electronic theory; voice, data and video cabling; and programmable logic controllers.
