MATC Adult & Continuing Education position openings
Current MATC ACE Part-time faculty openings:
Rosemaling, Stoughton, Fall 2008
Spanish, various locations and levels, Fall 2008. Instructors should have several semesters of prior classroom teaching experience.
Norwegian, Wednesday mornings, Stoughton, 10 weeks, Fall 2008.
Woodcarving, Middleton high school, Wednesday evenings, 6-9PM, 8 weeks, Fall 2008.
Cooking instructors, various locations and classes, some daytime. Instructors must have completed Sanitation Certification with National Restaurant Association. Openings starting Fall 2008.
Matting and Framing, Monday evenings, downtown Madison, Fall 2008 and Spring 2009.
Memory and Mind Stimulation, Wednesday afternoons, Madison, Summer 2008. Must have computer skills.
Knitting, Monday afternoons, Madison, September and October 2008.
Tile painting, Spring 2009.
Belly Dancing for Seniors, various times and locations, Fall 2008 and Spring 2009.
Home Maintenance - Electric, Home Maintenance - Improvement, Home Maintenance - Plumbing, Spring 2009, time, date, and location TBA.
Macintosh computer classes, Friday mornings, Saturday mornings, and some evenings, downtown Madison, Spring 2009.
Computer classes and Keyboarding (bilingual in English and Spanish), times and locations vary.
New instructors are assigned to teach only one or two classes for the first semester. Hours are based on student evaluation and availability of courses. Faculty may be assigned additional courses in subsequent semesters. There are no full time faculty positions in MATC ACE.
Qualifications:
400- Level Vocational courses such as computers, child-care, foods, sewing, etc.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent*
- 4,000 hours of occupational (work) experience in that particular field and EXCLUDES teaching positions
- 2,000 hours of teaching experience
* If an individual does not have a Bachelor's Degree, an Associate Degree can be substituted along with 7000 hours of additional work experience. Alternatively, additional work hours must be at least 14,000 hours if an individual has only a high school diploma. A high school diploma is required to qualify as a 400-level instructor.
600- Level Avocational courses such as global languages, art, music, etc
- Expertise and occupational experience in the field of interest
- Formal academic credentials preferred but not required
- Teaching experience preferred but not required
Salary:
The compensation below is designed to compensate for teaching, preparation for teaching, student assessment, email contact with ACE, and student contact. There is no additional compensation for those activities.
400- Level (vocational) courses: $41.43 per class contact hour.
600- Level (avocational) courses: $23.40 per class contact hour through June 30, 2008
