Thanks-Giving Blood Drive
The Student Life Office and Health Education Center are pleased to announce our second fall blood drive this semester to be held on Monday, November 22 from 9:00-3:00 p.m. in the Student Lounge at the Truax campus.

Please consider donating the gift of life. The Red Cross relies on MATC to provide our community with at least 90 units of blood at each of our blood drives. This blood helps as many as 270 local patients in need of a blood product. What better way to "give thanks" during this time of the year than to give back to your community by donating the most precious gift of all - the gift of life.

You may sign up ahead of time by stopping at the Student Service Center located next to the Student Life Office. We encourage people to sign up ahead of time in order to schedule you for your preferred time, but we always welcome walk-ins.

If you have any questions about the blood drive, please contact MATC Health Educator at 246-6027 or email her at ahoffmann@matcmadison.edu Thank you for taking the time to give of yourself and support your local community.

Safety Tip of the Week
According to the NFPA, Americans underestimate their risk of fire in the home and only 25 percent have planned/practiced fire escape. Yet, a high percentage of fires nation-wide occur in homes and during hours when people are asleep. Make sure you have a home evacuation plan. Get the family together, determine all possible escape routes from every room in the house, and determine an outdoor meeting place. Everyone needs to UNDERSTAND the plan. Then TEST and PRACTICE your plan.

If you have a safety tip you'd like to share, please send it to District Safety Committee Chair, Cynthia Eghbalnia, ceghbalnia@matcmadison.edu
