Crime and Punishment in Wisconsin: Thursday, April 22, 12:30-1:45, Room 207 Truax
Jodine Deppisch will focus on types of prisons, risk factors associated with the prison population, prison overcrowding, and alternatives for dealing with the problem.  She will also discuss careers and recruitment in the Department of Corrections.  Jodine Deppisch is the Warden at Taycheedah Correctional Institution.  She has taught at Marquette University, served as Deputy Warden at Waupun Correctional Institution.  In addition, she was a probation and parole agent, and supervisor in probation and parole. The MATC Foundation will celebrate student success at its annual Scholarship Awards Breakfast on Thursday, April 29th, from 7:45-9:00am in the Redsten Gymnasium. Participants include scholarship recipients, scholarship donors, and donors to the Foundation's Faculty Staff Giving Campaign. During the 2003-2004 school year, over 200 students received scholarships from the MATC Foundation! If you support the Foundation's Faculty Staff Giving Campaign and have not yet received an invitation, you will receive one shortly.

Dialogue Sessions with Vice President, Strategic Effectiveness
Dialogue sessions are scheduled with Becky Baumbach, Vice President of Strategic Effectiveness for the following regional sites:
April 23; 9:30-10:30 a.m. --Reedsburg Campus
April 28; 1:30-2:30 p.m. -- Fort Atkinson Campus
These sessions provide an opportunity for Becky to answer any questions staff may have or discuss topics related to unit planning, LSQIP, AQIP, core abilities, assessment of student learning outcomes, enrollment management, research, marketing and public relations, college strategic planning, or any continuous improvement effort at the college.  There is no formal presentation, just time to communicate about things on your mind concerning the college's direction and improvement efforts.  We hope to see you!

MATC Truax Salon, located in the Mitby Dressing rooms, is open for haircuts on the following days: April 19th, 20, 21st; and April  26th-29th; May 3rd-7th
The shampoo and haircut is only $5.00. These services are offered to student, staff and the public between the hours of 12:30pm to 4:15pm.  Last hair cut taken at 3:45pm.
Please stop and check out the Redken, Paul Mitchell, Bed Head, Goldwell and other supply lines at the Downtown and Truax Barber/Cosmetology Salon Sites. The shampoo, conditioner, comb, hair brush, gels, spray make a wonderful Easter Basket for someone.

Class Schedules for the fall semester are scheduled to arrive on campuses on April 20.  Summer class schedules are scheduled to arrive on April 23.  Class schedules may also be obtained from our website at www.matcmadison.edu.
Registration for Interim classes:  (May 17 thru June 11) Registration for interim classes may be done through the Touch Tone system from now until the class begins.  Contact the Divisional office for information on interim classes being offered.
Registration for Fall and Summer information including start date/time to register for the Fall and Summer Term will be sent to students in early April.  Refer to this letter for your registration time and date.  Continuing students may register for both fall and summer terms during their registration time.
Tell your students they can register through the touch-tone system at: (608) 246-6220, TDD (608) 246-6221 and toll free (800) 322-6282.  Touch Tone allows the students to: schedule their classes; review available classes; obtain their account balance and make tuition payments.

Two new scholarships are being formed through the Enrollment Center. One is for single moms who attend MATC called the "You Go Girl" scholarship and the other is for single dads who attend MATC and it is called "Way to Go Guy" scholarship. Everyone should have received a GW ALL announcement from Jill Mason that described the criteria for these scholarships. The Child and Family Center Downtown is having a scholastic book fair on Tues., Wed., and Thurs, the 20, 21 and 22. It will be held in the hallway by the cafeteria from 10am to 2pm. This is a fund-raiser for the center. Mark your calendar and be sure to stop by; they will have door prizes and books for all ages.

Next week stop in the Truax Bookstore and stock up on clothing, gifts, supplies or whatever else you may need. They are having their Customer Appreciation Event on April 19-23 and you will receive 25% off all clothing and 10% off all other merchandise excluding books and bus passes.

You're invited to the 3rd Annual Faculty Art Show in the Boardroom!  The show runs now through Thursday, April 29.  The exhibit is open to you and the public on most Mondays thru Thursdays from 11:00am to 1:30pm.  Stop in and enjoy the diverse artwork of our own faculty artists.
