Monday, September 15 is the kick-off for the Combined Charitable Campaign in room 129B&D, lower section of the cafeteria. Rosie Findlen will kick-off the event for us at 8am.  Mike McKinney, famous NBC Channel 15 News Anchor, has graciously agreed to be here at the same time to talk with us for a few minutes about charity and giving. Coffee, juice, milk and freshly baked sweetrolls will be served.

Tickets: $50, $40, $30 - Three-time grammy award-winning saxophonist Branford Marsalis joins the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra for the 2003-2004 Masterworks season premiere. Playing with "emotional intensity and instrumental brilliance," the Chicago Tribune declares Mr. Marsalis as "one of the premiere jazz saxophonists playing today. He plays with a subtlety of tone and phrasing only the finest interpreters can attain."

The optical dispensary in room 314 at Truax campus is now open for services. Hours are Fridays 12:00 to 3:00pm. Students and staff of MATC are invited to come and look at the large selection of dress and safety glasses available. We have the latest in eyewear fashion and lens materials all at a significant cost savings. When ordering glasses, you must bring with you a copy of your current prescription (not more than 2 years old). We also provide adjustments and minor eyeglass repairs at no cost. To assure that a technician is available when you come in we strongly recommend calling 246-6272 for an appointment.

Wisconsin Employee Trust Funds Benefit Presentations are set for September-November.
The Department of Employee Trust Funds and other sponsors will offer 14 free public presentations in September, October, and November for Wisconsin Retirement System participants. Those considering or planning retirement in the near future are encouraged to attend. The workshops are valuable opportunities for members, spouses and other individuals seeking general information on retirement issues and other WRS benefit programs. Topics covered during the presentations include calculating retirement benefits, annuity options, disability benefits, separation benefits, taxes, survivor benefits and health and life insurance benefits. Questions about when to retire and how to determine actual benefits will also be discussed. Each session is free and runs from 7pm to 9pm. All locations are handicapped accessible with adequate free parking.
