The Global Horizons
Lecture Series is dedicated to putting individual students, employees,
and community members in contact with global figures who are making a
difference in the world through their commitment, involvement, and local
action. The goal of the series is to provide new levels of global awareness
and new perspectives on issues of diversity and multiculturalism. By placing
a human face on the actors of human history, the college hopes these face-to-face
interchanges will inspire new levels of understanding and involvement.
The MATC Global Horizons
Lecture Series is a joint effort of the MATC Student Life Office, Staff
Development, and MATC Foundation, the Multicultural Initiative Fund, and
sponsorships from the greater Madison community.
MATC is one of the
largest of the Wisconsin Technical College System's 16 colleges. It provides
a comprehensive curriculum of technical, liberal arts and science, adult
basic education and life enrichment studies and activities, as well as
customized employee training. MATC provides training in more than 100

certificates, and offers non-degree courses. The college serves all or
parts of 12 counties located in southcentral Wisconsin and offers instruction
through five campuses and various other locations throughout the district.
