MATC Presents
Family Fun/Career Night for Latinos
Madison Area Technical College
(MATC) is holding Family Fun and Career Night for Latinos, cosponsored
by Centro Hispano, on Thursday, November 1, 2001 from 5:30-7:30 pm at
the MATC Downtown Education Center, 211 N. Carroll Street, Madison.
Participants will meet MATC staff and students and learn about MATC programs
such as biotechnology, business, computers, culinary, dental hygiene,
nursing, optometric technician, tourism and travel, and public safety.
Staff members will be available to answer questions about services including
financial aid, enrollment and employment at MATC. Authentic Puerto Rican
cuisine and other Latino foods and refreshments will be served. Live entertainment
will be provided.
The program will include remarks from MATC President Beverly Simone and
MATC's Downtown Education Center Administrator Maria Hernandez.
"This event is a part of a series of career exploration events for
various ethnic communities within our college district," states Beverly
Simone, president. "We hope these events help us in attracting and
serving diverse students at MATC."
