MATC Presents
Asian Family Career Explorations
Madison Area Technical College
(MATC) is holding Asian Family Career Explorations, cosponsored by the
United Refugee Service, on Tuesday, November 6, 2001 from 5:30-7:30 pm
at the MATC Truax Campus, 3550 Anderson St., Madison.
Participants will meet MATC staff and students and learn about MATC programs
such as biotechnology, business, computers, culinary, dental hygiene,
nursing, optometric technician, tourism and travel, and public safety.
Staff members will be available to answer questions about services including
financial aid, enrollment and employment at MATC. Authentic Indian cuisine
and refreshments will be served. Priya Mahadevan, a South Indian folk
and classical dancer, will perform.
The program also will include remarks from MATC President Beverly Simone
and MATC Advisor Lue Thao.
"This event is a part of a series of career exploration events for
various ethnic communities within our college district," states Beverly
Simone, president. "We hope these events help us in attracting and
serving diverse students at MATC."
