The Students First team is sponsoring a pilot program at Truax on November 14 and 15 and DTEC on November 14. The event is being held to assist students with registration questions and help them understand the new online registration system, as well as get feedback from students (via a brief survey) on their experience at MATC thus far.
Staff will be available throughout the hallways on first floor to pass out registration timetables, answer questions and conduct the brief survey. Staff from the Enrollment Center will also be available in the Student Lounge at Truax and in a location at DTEC to actually register students on the new online system. In the future, we hope to expand this program districtwide.
We are in need of volunteers for the following 2 hour shifts at Truax and ideally, we need several volunteers per shift:
Tuesday, Nov 14:
- 8am - 10am
- 11am - 1pm
- 4pm - 6pm
Wednesday, Nov 15:
- 8am - 10am
- 11am - 1pm
- 4pm - 6pm
The purpose of the program is to provide students an opportunity to:
- Get answers to quick questions about registration and other concerns,
- Get registered on the online registration program,
- Receive registration timetables, and
- Give feedback about their experience at MATC thus far.
No special training is required to be a volunteer, just a desire to make students feel welcome. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Lisa Anderson at 243-4241.
