MATC Offers
Accelerated Management Training
In today's business
community, there is a growing need for trained managers. Unfortunately,
the time crunch created by modern society offers individuals little time
to devote toward gaining additional training. In an effort to meet the
need for qualified supervisors, MATC is offering Supervisory Management
Fastrack, an accelerated management-training program. Applications are
currently being accepted for the program that begins in August.
The Supervisory
Management Fastrack Program, which requires meeting only one evening each
week, is designed for occupationally experienced adults that seek management
training in a compressed format. Students study contemporary management
topics such as conflict and change, workplace ethics, leadership development
and quality.
Individuals in
this program can complete the supervisory Management Associate Degree
in much less time than that of the traditional program. "Students
attend the same evening and stay with the same group throughout the program,"
says Cindy Spankowski, lead instructor. "They learn through interactive
methods, including group projects and focus intensely on one topic at
a time." Informational sessions on the Fastrack Program will be held
on June 20, July 11 and August 7 at the MATC Fort Atkinson Campus, 827
Banker Road, Fort Atkinson from 5:30-6:30 pm.
MATC is the second
largest of the Wisconsin Technical Systems' 16 colleges. It provides a
comprehensive curriculum of technical, liberal arts and science, adult
basic education and life enrichment studies and activities, as well as
customized employee training. MATC awards associate degrees, vocational
diplomas and certificates and offers non-degree courses. The college serves
all or parts of 12 counties located in south central Wisconsin and offers
instruction through five campuses and various other locations throughout
the district.
