MATC HOLDS AUDITIONS
FOR THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN
Madison Area
Technical College Performing Arts is holding auditions for its first production
for the 2002-2003 season, The Cripple of Inishmaan by celebrated
young playwright Martin McDonagh. Open auditions will be held on Tuesday,
September 3, and Thursday, September 5, 2002, from 7 p.m. in the Studio
Theater, room 206, MATC Truax Campus, 3550 Anderson Street. Roles are
available for four women and five men. see

MATC Machine Tool Technics Program receives Precision Vision Measuring
Equipment
Take a close look at
the back of a Lincoln head penny. With the naked eye, most people cannot
see President Lincoln sitting in his chair in the Lincoln Memorial. With
a recent equipment donation to the Madison Area Technical College's Machine
Tool Technics Program, not only can you see Lincoln, but you can also
measure the width of his knee! see

Five Area Students Receive
MATC Technical Excellence Scholarships
Five area students
have received Technical Excellence Scholarships from Madison Area Technical
College (MATC) for this fall. This is the first time MATC has awarded
the scholarships, made possible by donations from several local and national
businesses and individuals. see

MATC Culinary Programs Offer
Food demonstrations, Recipes and Advice Featuring farmer's Market Produce
Madison Area Technical
College (MATC) Culinary Trades faculty will demonstrate ways to use fresh
local foods most Saturday mornings*, from 9 to 11 a.m. through August
24 at the Dane County Farmer's Market in downtown Madison on the Capitol
Square. The demonstrations will take place on the South Hamilton Street
side of the square, near the Inn on the Park. see
