MATC, BARABOO AND
WISCONSIN DELLS TEACHERS
WORK WITH HO CHUNK NATION TO IMPROVE STUDENT SUCCESS
Madison Area Technical
College (MATC), the Ho Chunk Nation and teachers from Baraboo and Wisconsin
Dells schools are presenting a Learning to Learn Camp for
fifteen students of Native American descent. Developed several years ago
by MATC, the Learning to Learn Camp offers an intense week
of classes and workshops designed to build self-esteem, develop math and
reading skills, and focus students on career goals.
In addition to participating
in this camp session, the faculty from the local school districts will
be learning how to present their own Learning to Learn Camp.
The camp culminates with lunch, a talent show and awards, which will be
held at the MATC-Portage Campus on Friday, July 13th.
WHAT:
Learning to Learn Camp final events include lunch, talent show and award
ceremony.
WHO:
Fifteen Native American students, instructors from MATC, the Baraboo and
Wisconsin Dells school districts and representatives of the Ho Chunk Nation.
