MSOE
Electrical Engineering Technology Degree
Starts With Two Years at MATC
Madison Area Technical College (MATC) and Milwaukee School of Engineering
(MSOE) have signed an agreement to enable graduates of MATC’s two-year
electrical engineering technology program to transfer to MSOE with junior
status. This type of transfer agreement, called a 2+2 agreement, allows
MATC graduates who meet established requirements to transfer seamlessly
into MSOE’s bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering

QUALIFICATION BOARD CERTIFIES MATC FACULTY MEMBER TO TEACH MANDATORY APPRAISAL
STANDARDS COURSES
Lawrence
Sager, a real estate instructor at Madison Area Technical College (MATC),
is one of only four instructors in Wisconsin to qualify to teach the Uniform
Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) course, a mandatory
federal effort to set uniform national standards and ethics for the appraisal
profession. As of January 1, 2003, all persons in Wisconsin applying for
credentials as a real estate appraiser will be required to complete the
15-hour USPAP course and pass an exam. Current appraisers looking to upgrade
certification also will be required to complete a 7-hour version of the
course and exam. (See

MATC
to Graduate 1,071 Students at Mid-Year Commencement
Madison Area Technical College (MATC) will graduate 1,071 students
at its mid-year commencement ceremony on Friday, December 20. The ceremony,
to be held at 2 pm at the Exhibition Hall of the Alliant Energy Center
in Madison, will include graduates from MATCs Madison campus, as
well as its Fort Atkinson, Portage, Reedsburg and Watertown campuses.
The graduate address will be given by Monona resident, Clareta Norton,
who is earning an associate of arts degree from the colleges Liberal
Studies Program. Clareta, a deans list student, has been active
in numerous campus organizations and has served as an officer of Phi Theta
Kappa, the colleges academic honor society. In addition, she was
selected for and completed an internship through the Disney College Program
at Walt Disney World. (See

UWMADISON DUAL ADMISSION
PROGRAM TO INCLUDE MATC MADISON
UW-Madison Connections,
a pilot program that offers students dual admission to UW-Madison and
a UW Colleges campus, will expand next fall to include Madison Area Technical
