MATC Career
Snapshots Seminar Profiles High -Tech Careers
The rapid spread of computers
and information technology has generated many types of new jobs related
to the design, development and maintenance of hardware and software systems.
From web programming to digital interface to electronic equipment installation
and repair, Madison Area Technical College (MATC) will focus on these
high tech careers in an upcoming Career Snapshots Seminar to be held on
Tuesday, December 11. The free seminar will be held at the MATC Truax
Campus located at 3550 Anderson Street in Madison from 6-8 pm. Registration

The seminar will offer attendees a chance to observe demonstrations, participate
in hands-on activities and to learn more about these careers. Attendees
will be able to talk with graduates or students of MATC's Computer Information
System - Data Center Operations, Web Analyst/Programmer and Electronics
programs. Instructors will demonstrate the latest in wireless computer
technology. Participants will be able to tour MATC's working data center,
experience the invisible power of electronics and view sophisticated websites
designed by students.
Career Snapshots is a series of seminars presented by MATC that allows
attendees to participate in an interactive program focusing on a particular
career field. Whether changing careers or simply exploring different career
options, community members of all ages are encouraged to attend.
MATC is the second largest of the Wisconsin Technical College Systems'
16 colleges. It provides a comprehensive curriculum of technical, liberal
arts and science, adult basic education and life enrichment studies and
activities, as well as customized employee training. MATC awards associate
degrees, vocational diplomas and certificates, and offers non-degree courses.
The college serves all or parts of 12 counties located in south-central
Wisconsin and offers instruction through five campuses and various other
locations throughout the district.
