Speakers on Women
in Trades and Technology Available
from Madison Area Technical College
Women in nontraditional jobs,
such as protective services, construction, and industrial, mechanical
and high tech fields, often earn 20-30% more than those working in traditional
jobs. However, women hold only 6% of these jobs nationally. Now a free
speaker's bureau service made up of women who work in these high wage,
high skill and in demand occupations is available through Madison Area
Technical College's (MATC) "Tools for Tomorrow" program. see

MATC To Graduate 962
Students At Mid-Year Commencement
Madison Area Technical
College (MATC) will graduate 962 students at its mid-year commencement
ceremony to be held Friday, December 21. The ceremony, to be held at 2:00
pm at the Exhibition Hall of the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, will
include students from its Madison campuses, as well as its Fort Atkinson,
Portage, Reedsburg and Watertown campuses. see

Children To Enjoy
Breakfast With Santa
He's making a list
and checking it twice. Area children, both naughty and nice, will have
an opportunity to give Santa their Christmas requests first-hand. Madison
Area Technical College (MATC) is sponsoring its third annual Breakfast
with Santa on Saturday, December 8 at 9 am. Children of MATC students
and employees are invited to this event, which will take place in the
Carroll Corner Café, Room D231, of the Downtown Education Center,
211 North Carroll Street. Other activities include face painting and decorating
ornaments. see
