NEW SCHOOL YEAR STARTS WITH NEW SERVICES AT MADISION AREA TECHNICAL COLLEGE

The new school year starts Monday, August 27 at Madison Area Technical College (MATC). Several improvements and new services will greet the anticipated 50,000 individuals served by the college each year.

Changes include the expanded use of laptop computers by students in classrooms and on campus via the college’s wireless network, the offering of a variety of new certificate programs – many in computer and technology-related fields, and a new bachelor’s degree completion program made possible through a partnership with Franklin University. In addition, a renovated Student Services area offers a new look and more convenient access for students to services such as advising, counseling, support resources and a “one-stop shop” Enrollment Center.

In addition, MATC is providing online courses though the Wisconsin Technical College System’s new collaborative eTech College of Wisconsin, which offers courses from all 16 state technical colleges through a central website and selection of courses at http://www.etechcollege.com .

MATC is one of the largest of the Wisconsin Technical College System’s 16 colleges. The college offers credentials in more than 100 programs of study. It provides a comprehensive curriculum of technical, liberal arts and science, adult basic education and life enrichment studies and activities and offers customized training for employers through five campuses and various other locations throughout its district. More information about MATC is available at / .
