MATC Math Department Sponsors Middle School Math Competition
The Math Department at Madison Area Technical College (MATC) is sponsoring
its first middle school math competition on Wednesday, April 25th. Held
at the MATC-Truax Campus, 3550 Anderson Street, the competition will feature
approximately 100 students from 25 area middle schools. Students arrive
at MATC at 9:30 am and will begin the first round of competition at 10:30
am. The announcement of winning teams and award presentations will take
place at 2:00 pm in the MATC Mitby Theater. ...

MATC Barber/Cosmetology Students Help Kids Deal With Medical Hair
Loss
Students in the Madison Area Technical College (MATC) Barber/Cosmetology
Program have been helping kids who suffer from medical hair loss. When
MATC students cut a patrons long hair that is at least 10 inches
in length, the hair is then shampooed and donated to Locks of Love, an
organization that makes wigs for financially disadvantaged children dealing
with medical hair loss. see

MATC 10th Annual
Powwow Celebrates Native American Culture
The annual Madison Area Technical College (MATC) Powwow will be held this
year on Saturday, April 28. Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the MATC
Powwow draws approximately 2300 people to the MATC Truax campus each year.
Sponsored by the MATC Native American Student Association (NASA), the
public is invited to the event, which is part of the colleges celebration
of Native American History Month.

MATC Show Choir Presents a Night on Broadway
The Madison Area Technical College (MATC) Show Choir is presenting A
Night on Broadway on Friday, May 4 at 7:30pm. This annual showcase
will feature selections from famous Broadway musicals and will be presented
in the Mitby Theater, located on the MATC-Truax Campus, 3550 Anderson
Street. Tickets for A Night on Broadway are $5.00 for adults;
$4.00 for children and seniors and are available at the Mitby Theater

MATC Offers Career Insight
at Free Career Snapshots Seminar
The three careers
featured in MATC's upcoming Career Snapshots seminar all require similar
talents. Potential employees in the electronics, industrial maintenance
and welding fields all should like high-tech equipment, be able to solve
problems and want a challenging career that will pay them well for their
efforts. Graduates of these industrial programs at MATC generally earn
starting salaries from $22,000 to $40,000. With experience, graduates
can earn $60,000 and more. The Career Snapshots seminar is free to the
public and will be held from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, April 24 at the MATC-Truax
Campus, 3550 Anderson Street. ...

MATC Performing Arts Presents Staged Reading of Father
of Fortune
The murder of local priest, Father Alfred Kuntz, has served as the inspiration
for Father of Fortune, a new play written by MATC Instructor Wm.
Patrick Barlow. Sponsored by MATC Performing Arts, this one-time only
staged reading will be presented at 7:30 pm on April 19th in the MATC
Studio Theater, located on the MATC-Truax Campus, 3550 Anderson Street.
