MATC TO OPEN NEW MULTICULTURAL CENTER
Mayor Cieslewicz to be at Celebration

Ribbon cutting at Multicultural Business CenterLocal entrepreneurs will soon have a new place to get business advice and guidance.

On Saturday, April 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Madison Area Technical College will hold an open house to celebrate its new Multicultural Business Resource Center at 2300 S. Park St. in Madison’s Villager Mall.

At 10 a.m., Madison Mayor Dave Cieslewicz, along with the Latino Chamber of Commerce and the African American Black Business Association, will participate in the Multicultural Center’s ribbon cutting ceremony.

The new center will serve as a catalyst for economic development, especially for ethnic and minority entrepreneurs interested in starting or expanding their own business.

Center services will include:

  • Business planning
  • Entrepreneurial support groups
  • Financial debt/credit counseling
  • Business-related workshops and seminars

MATC provides "real world smart" education as one of 16 colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College System. It serves 12 south-central Wisconsin counties through a comprehensive curriculum of technical, liberal arts and science, adult basic education and life enrichment studies and activities, as well as customized employee training. MATC offers associate degrees, vocational diplomas and certificates and non-degree courses in more than 140 programs through five campuses and numerous community locations.
