MATC STUDENTS CREATE UNIQUE PHOTO EXHIBIT
FIRST LADY JESSICA DOYLE TO BE AT OPENING
When you think of a photography exhibit—fancy galleries usually come to mind—not Wisconsin's Department of Regulation and Licensing.
But when the office building on Madison’s east side was recently renovated, state officials needed some new artwork.
Madison Area Technical College photography students came to the rescue.
At 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, in the DRL’s office at 1400 E. Washington Ave., first lady Jessica Doyle will help celebrate the opening of the new photo exhibit.
MATC has worked with the DRL for about a year on the project.
Students have been shooting photos of the dozens of professions the DRL regulates, and large prints of their work now hang in the department’s hallways.
MATC instructor Mario Quintana hopes to make the photo exhibit a regular assignment for his second-year photography students.
MATC provides "real world smart" education as one of 16 colleges in
the Wisconsin Technical College System. It serves 12 south-central Wisconsin counties through a comprehensive curriculum of technical, liberal arts and science, adult basic education and life enrichment studies and activities, as well as customized employee training. MATC offers associate degrees, vocational diplomas and certificates and non-degree courses in more than 140 programs through five campuses and numerous community locations.
