MATC TO HOST SISTER COLLEGE FROM GERMANY
It’s the city where the Grimm brothers reportedly wrote their classic fairy tales. Now, a little piece of Marburg, Germany, is coming to Madison Area Technical College.
For the past eight years, MATC and its sister college Kathe-Kollwitz-Schule, have participated in an educational exchange program.
On Sunday, March 30, 11 students and two faculty members from the German college will begin an eight-day visit at MATC. The goal is to share tourism marketing ideas from a multi-cultural perspective.
The German students will also tour downtown Madison and Wisconsin Dells.
The last time students from Kathe-Kollwitz-Schule visited MATC, was in 2006. MATC also has an educational exchange program with hospitality and tourism marketing students from Fermanagh College in Northern Ireland.
MATC provides "real world smart" education as one of 16 colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College System. It serves 12 south-central Wisconsin counties through a comprehensive curriculum of technical, liberal arts and science, adult basic education and life enrichment studies and activities, as well as customized employee training. MATC offers associate degrees, vocational diplomas and certificates and non-degree courses in more than 140 programs through five campuses and numerous community locations.
