MATC GRAD BECOMES SCHOOL’S FIRST FULL-TIME SECURITY OFFICER
Tyler Mortenson, a recent graduate of Madison Area Technical College’s Criminal Justice program, has become the school’s first full-time security officer.
Under the direction of Jim Bottoni, MATC’s Chief of Security, Lt. Mortenson will oversee day-to-day security operations at MATC. In addition to Mortenson, MATC also employs Madison police officers
for extra support and has 14 student officers who help with security.
MATC hopes to hire two more full-time security officers in the near future.
MATC provides "real world smart" education as one of 16 colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College System. It serves 12 south-central Wisconsin counties through a comprehensive curriculum of technical, liberal arts and science, adult basic education and life enrichment studies and activities, as well as customized employee training. MATC offers associate degrees, vocational diplomas and certificates and non-degree courses in more than 140 programs through five campuses and numerous community locations.
