MORE THAN 1,600 STUDENTS TO GRADUATE FROM MATC
She went from wandering through life aimlessly…to a life full of passion and purpose.
Aericka Helf will talk about the importance of finding your own voice in life when she addresses fellow graduates at Madison Area Technical College’s mid-year commencement, Thursday, Dec. 20, 6:30 p.m. in the H. Douglas Redsten gymnasium, 3550 Anderson Street.
Shortly after graduating from high school, Aericka worked with the disabled in Appleton. While her job was rewarding she felt something was missing in her life, so she decided to go back to school. After enrolling at MATC, she quickly fell in love with classes in graphic design and illustration. Now she’s challenging other students to listen to their inner voice and find their own passion in life.
Aericka is one of 1,666 mid-year graduates who will receive their diplomas from MATC on Thursday. Of those, 453 graduates will receive their two-year associate degrees or diplomas. Another 1,213 graduates will receive one-year or shorter-term diplomas. Programs graduating the most students include liberal arts, nursing, accounting, emergency medical services and law enforcement.
The graduation ceremony will be broadcast via a live video stream on MATC’s website.
MATC provides "real world smart" education as one of 16 colleges in the Wisconsin Technical College System.
