MATC STUDENT DESIGNS GOVERNOR DOYLE’S HOLIDAY CARD
When Gov. and Mrs. Doyle send out their beautiful holiday card this year, it will have a special connection to Madison Area Technical College.
Nearly 70 MATC graphic design, illustration and photography students took part in a competition to create the governor’s holiday card. Designs included everything from a snowman holding an umbrella, to a classic flower embroidered holiday design. With help from
first lady Jessica Doyle and MATC faculty, the number of card designs was narrowed to 10, and then to the top three.
First place went to Johannah Anderson. Besides getting her design on the governor’s holiday card, she’ll receive a $500 grant from the MATC Foundation. Ann Foley took second place, winning
a $250 Foundation grant. Tracy Harris will get a $100 grant
for third place.
On Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 3:30 p.m., the first lady and
MATC President Bettsey Barhorst will congratulate the winners during a presentation at the governor’s mansion.
The governor’s holiday card will be sent to more than 6,000 people in
Wisconsin and throughout the nation.
