ABOUT 300 AREA HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS GET A HEAD START
ON AGRISCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY CAREERS AT MATC
A DNA crime solving demonstration. Robots. How to make your own flash video movie.
Those are just some of the exciting, hands-on displays that will be featured Thursday, Nov. 15 at Madison Area Technical College’s “Career Pathways.” The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in room 142 at the Truax campus.
The program gives middle and high school students a first-hand look at the many Agriscience and Technology careers available at MATC, including Biotechnology, Electron Microscopy, Veterinary Technician and Web Programming.
Four other Career Pathways events will be offered at MATC this school year.
- February 15—Business and Applied Arts
- February 28—Construction, Manufacturing, and Technology
- March 6—Protective Services (Commercial street campus)
- April 17—Liberal Arts and Transfer Programs
MATC is one of the largest of the Wisconsin Technical College System’s 16 colleges. It offers associate degrees, vocational diplomas and certificates, and non-degree courses in more than 140 programs of study. The college serves all or parts of 12 counties located in south-central Wisconsin and offers instruction at five campuses, Madison, Fort Atkinson, Portage, Reedsburg, Watertown and numerous community locations throughout the district.
