"DO YOU SUDOKU?"
MATC Math Club invites all to a Sudodu Festival and High School Competition April 26 and 27
Sudoku, the logic puzzle craze that has swept the nation in recent years, is the cause for fun and celebration at the MATC Math Club's upcoming Sudoku Festival. Lectures will explore the mathematics behind the popular puzzle and give insight into its history and attraction. On the second day of the event, area high school students will compete in a "Who Wants to be a Sudoku Master" competition with a $1,000 top prize. The festival is free and open to all math and puzzle enthusiasts!

Lecture by Professor Jane Tanner of SUNY Onondaga
- Friday, April 27, Mitby Theater, Truax
9 a.m. — “Sudoku: Questions, Variations and Research”
Lecture by Professor Laura Taalman, James Madison University
10:30 a.m. — “Who Wants to be a Sudoku Master?” (Mitby Theater)
A Sudoku-solving competition for high school students
Top prize is $1,000! Presented by MATC math faculty and Professor Jonathan Kane, UW-Whitewater. Finalists for this event are from: Baraboo, Chilton, Deforest, Eau Claire North, Edgewood, Fort Atkinson, Jefferson, Ithaca (Richland Center), Madison East, Oregon and Pardeeville.
