SOLAR SUMMIT AT MATC CONNECTS INDUSTRY, EDUCATORS, GOVERNMENT
Event to Focus on Emerging Trends in Wisconsin's Solar Energy Industry
WHAT: Annual meeting of the Wisconsin Solar Working Group. High winter heating bills add to the interest in renewable energy sources such as solar. Wisconsin is an emerging leader in the solar manufacturing market. MATC COMPLETES SET OF TRIPLET NURSING GRADS THIS DECEMBER
Identical Sisters Karen and Kathy Join Sister Kristi in Earning Practical Nursing Degrees
WHAT: Practical Nursing Pinning Ceremony for MATC Mid-Year Graduates. Identical sisters Karen and Kathy are earning practical nursing degrees this week from MATC. Their third identical sister, Kristi, who began the trend by earning her practical nursing degree from MATC in 2004, also will attend the college’s traditional Nurse Pinning Ceremony to congratulate her sisters. see media alert

MATC RECIEVES $2 MILLION FEDERAL GRANT TO PROVIDE LABORATORY TECHNICIAN SKILLS TRAINING TO AREA WORKERS
Madison Area Technical College (MATC) has won a highly competitive grant for nearly $2 million from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Community-based Job Training Grants. MATC was one of only 72 institutions to receive the grant out of 429 applicants. see press release

COLLEGE TO GRADUATE 1,200 STUDENTS AT MID-YEAR COMMENCEMENT
Madison Area Technical College (MATC) will graduate about 1,200 students at its mid-year commencement ceremony on Thursday, December 21, 6:30 p.m. in the H. Douglas Redsten Gymnasium, MATC Truax, 3550 Anderson Street, Madison. Graduates from MATC’s Madison campus, as well as its Fort Atkinson, Portage, Reedsburg and Watertown campuses, will participate in the ceremony. The event will be broadcast via a live video stream with DVDs of the ceremony available for later purchase.
