MATC SHOW CHOIR AND MUNICIPAL BAND TEAM UP
TO PRESENT ANNUAL HOLIDAY CONCERT

The Madison Area Technical College (MATC) Community Show Choir and the MATC Municipal Band will perform holiday song favorites at the MATC Annual Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 3, at 2 p.m. The show is held in the Mitby Theater, MATC–Truax, 3550 Anderson St.

Tickets for the concert are $5 for adults, $4 for children under 12 and seniors, and are available at the Mitby Theater Box Office or by calling (608) 243-4000. For additional information, call James Langkamp at (608) 243-4325.

Founded in 1980, the MATC Community Show Choir presents concerts of popular music in the fall and spring of each year. A volunteer organization open to all who love to sing, the choir has performed at New York’s Lincoln Center as part of Irving Berlin’s 100th birthday concert and for Pope John Paul while on a tour of Italy and Poland. Regionally, the choir performed for the opening of the Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison, at the Wisconsin State Fair in Milwaukee and at the Wisconsin State Capitol.

The Madison Municipal Band has performed year round for more than 50 years for audiences all over the world, most recently toured France, Belgium and Luxemburg. The band includes about 80 members and offers a free public summer concert series. Experience is required for membership, but no audition is necessary.

MATC is one of the largest of the Wisconsin Technical College System’s 16 colleges. It provides “real world smart” education through a comprehensive curriculum of technical, liberal arts and science, adult basic education and life enrichment studies and activities, as well as customized employee training. MATC offers associate degrees, vocational diplomas and certificates, and non-degree courses in more than 140 programs of study. The college serves all or parts of 12 counties located in south-central Wisconsin and offers instruction through five campuses and numerous community locations throughout the district.
