Biodiesel Reactor to be Dedicated, Demonstrated at MATC

WHAT:

Dedication and demonstration of joint MATC-UW Biodiesel Fuel Reactor project. Highlights include:

  • demonstration of the reactor designed and built as a joint project between UW-Madison and MATC students to convert vegetable oil into biodiesel fuel
  • demonstration of diesel engine running on biodiesel
  • banner-breaking by semi truck fueled with biodiesel

WHY:
To promote the training of more individuals in alternative fuel technologies. The reactor will be used to educate MATC diesel technology students in the production, use and quality control of biodiesel fuels and the maintenance of biodiesel-fueled engines and vehicles.
