MATC Offers Training Seminars to
Help Businesses Win Government Contracts;
July 27 Sessions Will Focus on General Services Administration and Proposal Writing
Madison
Area Technical College (MATC) will help area businesses learn how to effectively
compete for contracts to sell their products and services to the
federal government at four training seminars to be held on Thursday, July 27,
2006. The training sessions will be conducted by the Business Procurement Assistance
Center (BPAC) in the TEC Center located at 3591 Anderson Street, Madison, WI
53704. A $25 fee for each seminar will cover the cost of materials.
Each year
more and more federal buyers use the General Services Administration
(GSA) Schedules to do their buying. Businesses can learn more about GSA by
attending one or both of the seminars. The morning seminar, “General
Services Administration (GSA) Part I,” to be held from 9:00
- 11:30 a.m.,
addresses many of the challenges a business will face when deciding whether
or not to pursue a GSA
contract. The afternoon seminar, “General Services Administration (GSA)
Part II” from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m., will focus on completing the GSA
solicitation paperwork. Contract negotiating and contract compliance issues
will also be discussed along with how to market your GSA contract.
Two other
seminars will be offered that day. “Proposal Writing 1" will
also be held from
9:00 - 11:30 a.m. This training provides a systematic approach
to responding to a solicitation. Attendees will learn how to efficiently
read a solicitation
package, where companies often make mistakes as well as tips for cost estimating,
fact finding and negotiating. “Proposal Writing 2” will follow
in the afternoon from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. Attendees will design
actual submittals to real government solicitations and come away more confident
in their own abilities
to write a compelling proposal.
Registration for the BPAC seminars is required
