Financial Aid Help is Available
During MATC Financial Aid Awareness Week
Help with applying for college financial aid is
available at Madison Area Technical College’s Financial Aid Week, April 11 through
13. Special events and special presentations are planned for all
MATC campuses, including Ft. Atkinson, Reedsburg, Portage, Watertown
and two locations, Truax and Downtown, on the Madison campus.
A
Financial Aid Fair at MATC’s Truax location, 3550 Anderson
St. in Madison, will feature MATC enrollment facilitators and representatives
from area lenders to help students and their families begin to
find their way through the financial aid maze. The event will be
held at Truax from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.
Participants will have computer access and personal assistance
with online financial aid applications, as well as in-person information
on grants, loans, scholarships, student employment and admissions.
A
special evening session will take place on Tuesday, starting
at 5:30 p.m., for all college and high school students and their
families. The evening session will include a financial aid panel
presentation at 6 p.m. MATC students who complete the financial
aid application process before the event concludes Thursday evening,
April 13, are eligible to compete for four scholarships of $500.
The scholarship drawing will take place on April 17.
In addition
to the events taking place at Truax, the Downtown location and
each regional campus will sponsor financial aid
activities.

MATC is one of the largest
of the Wisconsin Technical College System’s
16 colleges. It provides a comprehensive curriculum of technical, liberal arts
and science, adult basic education and life enrichment studies and activities,
as well as customized employee training. MATC offers associate degrees, vocational
