Activities across all five campuses of Madison Area Technical College to recognize and show appreciation for the important work and roles performed by the college’s administrative professionals.

MATC’s Business Technology faculty also are offering managers tips for the types of recognition most preferred by administrative professionals. Members of our Business Technology faculty are available for interviews on this topic.

According to a survey conducted by the International Association of Administrative Professionals, the top preferences among administrative professionals for how their managers can recognize them during this week are:

• Company-wide observance or special events for all administrative staff
• Training sessions or educational events
• Bonus or monetary award
• A day off work

Cards and lunch ranked lowest among preferred ways for managers to show appreciation.

Administrative support staff are invited to start their week with coffee and pastries hosted by Business Technology faculty, students and local professionals in the field.

Tuesday, April 25 • 8 am – 1 pm • Monona Terrace
Annual seminar offered by the Madison Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals; MATC will offer a “Gift of Education” certificate for one-credit software courses.

Wednesday, April 26 • Administrative Professionals Day • All Campuses
To close the week’s activities, MATC departments are encouraged to recognize their administrative support staff in individual and small group activities.

All college employees are invited to an ice cream social to thank administrative support staff.
