MATC Offers Training to Help Wisconsin Businesses
Win Government Work
Madison Area Technical College will help
area businesses learn how to write compelling proposals to win government
contracts at
a training seminar to be held on Tuesday, August 16, 2005. The training
session will be conducted by MATC’s Business Procurement Assistance
Center (BPAC) at the TEC Center, Room 104/105, 3591 Anderson Street,
Madison, WI. A $20 fee for the seminar will cover the cost of materials.

MATC Creating Online Courses and Resources
To Teach New Renewable Energy Technologies
Madison Area Technical College is launching a major effort to improve
the teaching of renewable energy technologies in technical colleges and
high schools. The initiative will feature new online courses, interactive
learning tools and other resources to better prepare qualified technicians
to work in the fast growing renewable energy industry. see

MATC to offer new journalism course this fall
“Hybrid” course will be offered mostly online
Designed specifically to meet the educational needs of
students who want to learn the craft of news reporting but who do not
live in the Madison area, Madison Area Technical College will offer a
hybrid/online Newswriting and Reporting class for the fall 2005 semester.
The public will be able to sign up for the class starting July 25 during
open registration for fall. see

MATC District Board Gets New Members, Picks New Leaders
Five new members joined the Madison Area Technical College District Board
at its annual organizational meeting on July 11. The board also elected
a new chair, Dr. Gerald McGowan of Fort Atkinson, for a one-year term. see
