MATC 14th Annual Pow Wow Celebrates Native American Culture
The annual Madison Area Technical College (MATC) Pow Wow will be held this year
on Saturday, April 16. Celebrating its 14th anniversary, the MATC Pow Wow draws
approximately
2,500 people to the college’s Truax location each year and features nationally
known drum groups, dancers and other featured participants. Sponsored by the
MATC Native American Student Association (NASA), the public is invited to the
event. see

Help with applying for college financial aid is available at Madison
Area Technical College's Financial Aid Week, April 5 through
7. Special events and special presentations are planned for all five
MATC campuses, including Ft. Atkinson, Reedsburg, Portage, Watertown
and Madison's

Sixty-one students from all five campuses were inducted into Madison Area Technical
College’s (MATC) chapter of Phi Theta Kappa during the college’s

MATC Career Snapshot Event Profiles Protective Service Careers
We count on them being there in times of need. They play a critical
role in helping people. Police, paramedic and fire professionals
are vital members of our communities. Employment of police and
detectives is expected to increase faster than the average through
2010, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. see

MATC Math Club Presents "MathFest 2005"
On Monday, March 14, the
Madison Area Technical College (MATC) Math Club will host an all-day
celebration titled “MathFest 2005.” MathFest will feature
a math-related presentation, a high school math competition, poster
competition, jazz music and a pie eating contest in honor of Pi Day.
The event starts at 9 a.m. with most events held in the college’s
Mitby Theater at the MATC Truax location, 3550 Anderson St., Madison. see

Workshops Offered Statewide to Help Building Professionals and
Consumers Understand Wisconsin's Uniform Dwelling Code
A workshop designed to help building professionals and consumers understand
the state’s unique Uniform Dwelling Code
will be offered in seven locations across the state during March and
April. This training focuses on helping builders, contractors, designers,
architects and suppliers understand the permitting process, avoid red
flags on job sites and make sure their work is likely to pass inspection.
The workshop, hosted by the Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA) and
Madison Area Technical College (MATC) and funded in part by the Wisconsin
Department of Commerce, also includes training on EPA erosion and storm
water control requirements. see

MATC Performing Arts Presents You Can't Take It With You
Madison Area Technical College (MATC) Performing Arts brings
Kaufman and Hart’s classic comedy, You Can’t Take It
With You, to the Mitby Theater. Performances are scheduled for March
4, 5, 11, and 12 at 8:00 p.m. and March 6 and 13 at 3:00 p.m. The Mitby
Theater is located on the Truax Campus, 3550 Anderson Street, in Madison. see
