Population 485 Author to Visit Madison
Michael Perry will discuss his book on small town Wisconsin life
On Wednesday, February 23, Wisconsin author Michael Perry will
discuss his writing and his book, Population 485: Meeting
Your Neighbors One Siren at a Time, at Madison Area Technical College’s
Downtown Education Center in room D240, 211 N. Carroll St., Madison.
The event begins at
7 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Filled with wit, wisdom and just a bit of Northern charm, Population
485 offers a fascinating tour of life in small town Wisconsin as
seen through the eyes of a native son. Upon returning after years
away, professional writer and journalist Perry decided to put his
nursing training to use and reconnect with his community by joining
the New Auburn Area Fire Department. His book is a tribute to the
people of New Auburn and the people who give back to the community
through service during critical times.
Madison Area Technical College students and staff chose Perry’s
book for its Reading Together Program, a college wide effort to
promote reading and community.
