MADISON AREA TECHNICAL COLLEGE OFFERS FREE CAR CARE CLINIC SERVICE WITH FOOD PANTRY DONATION
Madison Area Technical College (MATC) will be holding a free car care clinic Saturday, October 16 from 9 am to 2 pm at its Truax facility, located at 3550 Anderson Street near Hwy. 51 in Madison. The clinic, operated by MATC automotive students with assistance from MATC automotive instructors, is open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis in exchange for a non-perishable food item that will be donated to a local food pantry. see press release

THE MITBY THEATER AND WE ENERGIES PRESENTS THE MILWAUKEE REPERTORY THEATER’S “CYRANO”
The Mitby Theater, located at Madison Area Technical College, is pleased to welcome The Milwaukee Repertory Theater to Madison on Tuesday, October 26, 7:30 p.m. for its first regional tour in over 20 years. The Milwaukee Rep will perform Belgian playwright Jo Roets’ brilliant adaptation of Edmond Rostand's classic love story, Cyrano De Bergerac. A celebration of theatrical creativity and storytelling, CYRANO, presented by We Energies and with a grant from Dane County Cultural Affairs Commission, reinvents the French classic, using only three actors, imagination, and panache. see press release

FREE TRAINING OFFERED TO HELP WISCONSIN BUSINESSES WIN GOVERNMENT WORK
Wisconsin entrepreneurs have an opportunity to learn how to sell their products and services to the government. Two training sessions are offered at Southwest Wisconsin Technical College in Fennimore, Wisconsin on Tuesday, September 14th. The morning session from 9:00am to noon is geared to the federal market called “Essential Elements of Federal Contracting”. The afternoon session from 1:30pm to 4:30pm, geared to selling to the state government, is called “Selling to the State of Wisconsin”. MADISON AREA TECHNICAL COLLEGE HIRES
EUGENE FUJIMOTO AS DIVERSITY COORDINATOR AND AFFIRMATIVE ACTION OFFICER
Madison Area Technical College (MATC) has hired Eugene Fujimoto as the college's diversity coordinator and affirmative action officer. In this position, which reports directly to the college president, he will develop and evaluate MATC's diversity and affirmative action programs to ensure they meet college goals and comply with state and federal regulations. These college goals include diversity in hiring, staff development and curriculum and equity in student access and achievement. see press release

MATC ANNOUNCES 2004 OUTSTANDING EMPLOYEE
AND TEAM OF THE YEAR AWARDS
Madison Area Technical College (MATC) kicked off its new school year with a positive start by honoring eight Outstanding Employees of the Year. The outstanding employees for 2004 are David Chastain of Madison, AODA specialist; Terry Christensen of Pardeeville, instructional media specialist; Douglas Kirchberg of Columbus, student publications coordinator; Rocio Martinez of Madison, counselor; Brian Nesbit of Madison, senior payroll specialist; Kristin Rauls of DeForest, administrative assistant; Jeganathan Sriskandarajah of Madison, mathematics instructor; and Kathy Waters of Waunakee, mail center lead worker. see press release
