PRESIDENTIAL SEARCH TO START WITH STAKEHOLDER INFORMATION SESSIONS
Madison, WI .
. . .The Madison Area Technical College (MATC) District Board announced
today it will start its search for a new college president by holding
stakeholder informational meetings in early March. At its Dec. 10, 2003,
meeting, the board approved a proposal by Isaacson, Miller (www.imsearch.com),
a Boston-based executive search firm, to assist with the search. The MATC
Presidential Search Committee, comprised of all nine members of the district
board, will work with an Isaacson, Miller team led by Michelle Cruz-Williams,
vice president and director.
Isaacson, Miller
has recruited leaders for a wide range of mission-driven organizations
including two- and four-year colleges and universities such as Wisconsin’s
nearby technical colleges in Waukesha and Milwaukee, Alamo Community College
in San Antonio, TX, Cornell University, in Ithaca, NY and Brown University
in Providence, RI, as well as K-12, social services, economic, community
development, foundations and advocacy organizations. The firm has a strong
track record in recruiting a diverse pool of qualified candidates.
In a memo to
MATC students and employees issued today, MATC District Board Chair John
Ashley explained that the Isaacson, Miller team will “meet with
MATC faculty, staff, administrators, students and external stakeholders
to seek and learn their opinions on the role and challenges of the new
president.” Shortly after these meetings, Isaacson, Miller will
prepare a position profile/challenge statement for the president position.
As part of the process to attract candidates for the MATC president position,
the firm will post ads nationally in two- and four-year college publications,
websites and also will network with professionals locally and nationally.
“The Search
Committee encourages employees, residents and the greater MATC community
to offer or forward questions, sources and potential candidates to the
Isaacson, Miller team,” stated Ashley. Comments can be communicated
via email to 2784.MATC@imsearch.com , by calling 617-262-6509 or faxing
617-262-6500.
“Periodically,
we will share updates of the search progress with employees, students
and the larger MATC community,” stated Ashley. The college also
plans to create a link off its homepage at http://www.matcmadison.edu
to post news about the search process.
